The hunt for peanut and tree nut free Easter eggs in Singapore is over! Although there are no traditional hollow chocolate Easter eggs that fall into this category, Cadbury’s Crème eggs produced in the UK are indeed both peanut and tree nut free. Cadbury Crème eggs produced in other countries such as Australia and New Zealand are however not peanut and tree nut free, due to different production methods.

Sneezywheezy.com wrote into Cadbury’s UK and this is the response:

“As a caring company and one that realizes the trust our consumers have in our products, as well as declaring on the wrapper products that contain nuts we feel it is correct to bring to everyone’s attention a product that might contain even the remotest traces. A number of products that do not contain nuts in their recipes are manufactured on the same production line as products that contain nuts.  The machinery is flushed and cleaned throughout after nut products are produced. Even though the risk of cross contamination is extremely small it is nevertheless a possibility we cannot ignore.”

This is why their products such as Cadbury’s Caramel and Cadbury’s Crunchy are not suitable for people with peanut or tree nut allergies.

It is important to remember when buying any chocolate products to always look out for the “may contain”, as luckily with Cadbury’s UK they highlight if there is even the smallest chance of cross contamination with peanuts or tree nuts.

There is also a great section on their website where you can search for products that do not contain peanut and/or tree nuts or traces of them. Please click here for more information.

Cadbury Buttons, Splats, Twirl and Flake, produced in the UK ONLY currently do not contain tree nut and/or peanuts or traces of them. Always read the labels before you purchase these products in case the production/manufacturing of these products has changed.

Cadbury products produced in the UK are available in both Cold Storage and Fairprice Finest in Singapore.

*Please note that the Cadbury Crème eggs do contain egg.

~ Enjoy
