We are typical of many families in Singapore: multi-cultural, multi-ethnic — and multi-allergy. Between our two families, we have have egg, fish and nut allergies, soy and dairy intolerance, ezcema, hayfever, asthma — and a weird cockroach allergy, just to round things off. And no, we’re not hypochondriacs! Aside from the allergies, we’re pretty bloody healthy!.
We’re both moms to two children (not the same two), and find ourselves in a situation that many parents are facing. We’re learning to deal with the reality of living with kids with allergies and trying to maintain a sense of normality — and humour.
We’ve set up this blog as an informal, friendly and informative one-stop shop for all things allergy, family and fun in Singapore. We will blog on a variety of topics from health to travel to dining and parenting. Just for the record, we’re not medical experts; our background is in media (Vicky) and journalism (Cris). Most importantly, we are moms who are in a similar situation to you.
